A house is like a person. It has an outside skin, plumbing, blood flow in the form of water pipes and heating system. It’s affected by the summer and winter - and like us, it gets old - ouch! It needs protection from the elements: roof shingles, paint, siding; it breathes or doesn’t if it’s too tight. It’s being eaten by microscopic creatures and some not so microscopic! It needs a replacement joint from time to time in the form of: window sills, joists, door frames, etc. It’s susceptible to damage from angry feet, to falling tree limbs and, sadly, nothing’s child-proof!
